Plenary Enterprises, LLC and Come Unity Development Corporation have created and are and implementing The First Historic Westside Workforce Development and Training Program that recruits, wraps around, educates, trains, mentors and then places local residents of the Historic Westside Las Vegas into the residential and commercial construction and development trades within the state of Nevada. 

When you join our program you are guaranteed to: 

• Learn what is required to be productive and valuable within these industries
• Gain basic and intermediate construction and trades skills
• Prepare to become laborers, apprentices, and hopefully journeymen
• Learn about skills and trades unions and their benefits
• See what is takes to become a successful contractor or subcontractor

Our program is designed to accommodate and fill the needs of the community. All residents age 16 and over are encouraged to Join for Free! No knowledge of, or experience or skills in construction are required! If you can read, write, speak and understand English and Math, and are willing to take and follow instructions in the classroom and on job sites, and are willing to listen, learn and perform basic construction tasks, you have all you need in order to participate in our program.

What sets our program apart from the others? We don’t set goals and establish rules that will become burdensome on our participants; we accept all participants as they are and as long as they are willing to adapt to the education and training for program completion. Not all people are alike; not all people learn the same way or at the same pace. Our program allows people to move and participate at their own pace and attend our program based upon their life, school, or work schedules as long as they attend during program hours. If a person can only come for 2 hours a day, that is fine; if a person can only come for 4 hours a day, that is fine; if a person can only come 2 days a week, that is fine. We track participation, skills acquisition and levels, and progress for each individual separately so that each person can complete the program in his or her own timeframe and acquire basic skills levels that guarantee employment in the construction field. Since we are task (not hourly) driven, our trainees can come and work on assigned tasks within their available timeframes and within established work hours and work at their own pace as long as they complete the tasks assigned to them for that day. No pressures and no shouting from angry bosses! Our goal is to get residents in the Historic Westside involved in the design, construction, and development of their own neighborhoods and community so they can be part of the legacy that is happening now.
